Pets are Welcome

Bring your pet on holiday
Bring your horse on holiday to what is probably the best location for trekking in the UK. Have lessons in the indoor school (available 2009) from our resident instructor or a number of local instructors (depending on your grade). Join in local horse shows using local stables with all levels of livery available. Maps and guided treks are always available.

An Oldwalls Welcome for your Dog
Oldwalls is probably the only luxurious Gower retreat that will welcome your dog and allow you to walk your canine companion freely around our large private grounds. We have direct access to Cefn Bryn leading down on to Three Cliffs Bay (voted Britain's best view by celebrated opera star Katherine Jenkins ) and to numerous other unspoilt beaches. Click here to see Katherine's video
Bring your Budgie on holiday!!!!
If your preferred mode of travel is by private helicopter, make use of our helipad. Our concierge service can arrange for you to land at carefully selected, pre-booked golf-courses and restaurants. Helipad can be arranged with prior notice.
Fur and Feathers at Oldwalls Gower
Oldwalls is not just a five star bed and breakfast facility --part of every normal day of your stay involves access to our domestic pets and working animals. Our rural lifestyle is yours to share. It is part of the idyllic Oldwalls package.
Galloping success –Rio and Hugo
The first animals you are likely to see are our national champion jumper Rio and her gorgeous foal Hugo, who have the run of the fields alongside the entrance drive and like to keep a close eye on all comings and goings
The Peruvian Guard
The three alpacas, brought in to repel the murderous foxes that have massacred Alan’s flock of chickens several times, occupy the fields on the right hand side of the entrance drive. Cadbury, Nestle and Bourneville are absolutely adorable but are working animals: though friendly, they do not respond to human attention from strangers.
Alpaca wool is much prized and we hope that our first little shearing in spring will yield enough to create a few small souvenir items
A BOW WOW Welcome
As you park and step out of your car, you will be greeted by Reilly, Alfie and Mr Magoo, our trio of lively Labradors
Your dogs are also welcome at Oldwalls Gower
Furry Felines
Andrew’s cats Sasha and Sunny are very private superstars, but will consider making an appearance if you are suitably accompanied by food and drink.
You are welcome to bring your cat to Oldwalls—we have had several successful feline guests
A Fan of Feathers
Two pheasant families have taken up residence at Oldwalls, the cock a gloriously feathered and winged beauty. They are quite shy, and to catch sight of them stepping daintily in the meadow is a rare pleasure, a reward reserved for those who can sit still.
And Cock-a Doodle To You
Alan loves his flock of hens and was devastated when two lots in rapid succession were massacred by marauding foxes .Fortunately the introduction of the alpacas has been a powerful deterrent to the foxes, and the senseless raids have ceased. Foxes don’t eat the chickens—they murder them for the heck of it and leave a dreadful legacy of torn bodies—for no reason at all.
The present incumbents, Martha and her flock are friendly creatures, and willing layers. Their run is near the tennis court behind the marquee.
Quacking Families
A family of ducks will soon be installed in the big lake below the cottages.
For the twitchers
Several species of wild birds are to be seen at Oldwalls Gower. A cheeky pair of woodpeckers are daily visitors, but for the dedicated bird watcher Oldwalls Gower’s fifty private acres are a veritable avian paradise.
