As an award-winning luxury wedding venue in Wales, we know that each and every wedding is a unique experience and a celebration of the couple’s personalities. That being said, it’s usually the speeches that give you the best insight into the couple in question’s special bond. At Oldwalls, we love a good speech, and we’re always touched by the sentiment and effort that goes into each carefully crafted speech. Yet sometimes, somebody will go above and beyond to create something so unique and exceptional that it blows away all of our expectations and leaves us speechless. And that’s exactly what happened when Johnny Lewis surprised his new wife Rachel with a slightly unconventional wedding speech last week…

Spitting verse, for better or for worse

Ever since Tom Fletcher’s famous wedding song to his wife, grooms have felt the pressure when it comes to perfecting the perfect wedding speech to their partners. But we think that 28-year old Johnny from Swansea might have actually cracked it and given Tom Fletcher a run for his money! With the perfect blend of wit, sentiment and romance, Johnny warmed the hearts of his guests and filled the room with laughter when he serenaded his new wife Rachel with a romantic rap that he’d spent months writing! We could never hope to do justice to Johnny’s unique talent, so we’ll  let this video do the talking for us:

Keeping it short, sweet and utterly hilarious, Johnny recapped on his and Rachel’s journey together, from buying their first home together with their dog Dave, right the way up to the birth of their 1-year old son, Ted. It was a memorable highlight of the day and set the tone for an atmospheric and wonderful wedding reception.
