As the nights continue to get longer and darker, 2017 is coming to a close. Whilst it’s been another exciting and successful year for us, we’re also very much looking forward to everything that 2018 has in store, including the new trends set to take the wedding world by storm. As the best wedding venue in Wales, we thought we’d explore the top trends to watch over the course of the next year.
Step into the woods
If you’ve been thinking about weddings for quite some time and pinning your favourite looks on Pinterest, you’ll know that rustic wedding venues have been big news for the last few years. Whilst this theme will never go out of fashion, the trend is progressing to a more ‘woodsy’ type of feel. Think masses of greenery, wilder bouquets and a slightly more undone vibe. Centrepieces will become more understated and traditional flowers will take a backseat. Suspended plants will also be big news as décor moves away from the tables and makes its way to the ceilings. If this is something that interests you, we couldn’t recommend Eve Francesca Design enough!
Innovating the invitation
Wedding stationery has been changing for quite some time, but couples are getting more and more innovative with their choice of invitations. Couples are no longer confined to using certain materials and invitations are becoming more of a hint as to what guests can expect from the big day. With fabric, perspex and natural materials such as stone and wood being utilised as the canvas of choice, we’re seeing some exciting advancements in this department. If you’ve got an idea for your stationery and want something bespoke, or you are looking for wedding inspiration, contact Exquisite by Design; you won’t regret it.
From suits and bridesmaids dresses to wedding stationery and décor accents, navy blue is the hue that will reign supreme next year. Whilst black will never go out of fashion, midnight blue is a softer and more stylish addition to the colour palette.
Whilst we’re on the subject of colours, it’s time to talk about metallic. Whilst rose gold was the colour of choice for 2017, we’ll see a step back to silver and chrome next year when it comes to venue decoration. Whatever colours you opt for at your special day, we’re proud to offer a full decor and centrepiece service to bring your vision to life.
We’ve said it before and we’ll say it again, the menu you choose plays a crucial role in setting the tone for your big day. As such, there are more food options than ever before to choose from. Whether it’s quirky street food trucks outside or interactive stations with ‘make your own’ dishes, couples are getting more and more creative with their choice of wedding menus. That’s why we’ve got creative and introduced our unique street food buffets to give your guests something to talk about!
Step up the entertainment
After the vows are exchanged and the bar opens up, your guests want to be entertained. Couples are going bigger and bolder with their entertainment options, with performances and magicians, like Phil Jay, proving more and more popular. If you’re looking for some special musical entertainment, check out Music HQ. With that being said, one trend that isn’t going anywhere is the photobooth. We personally recommend the award winning Ultrabooth. Guests still love this notion, but we will see new props being added to the mix!
