Summer 2019 wedding trends
With Summer 2019 set to offer the same record-breaking hot weather as last year who wouldn’t be excited for a summertime wedding? Think gin and tonics on the lawn, soft florals and foliage and the great Welsh outdoors!
Bringing the outdoors in.
Natural, whimsical and romantic. Luscious yet simple greenery, living walls, elegant centrepieces. Tall cylinder vases with one simple green steam and a white rose looks so effective while also being budget friendly. Wild British flowers and wood is also on trend for that ‘Alice in Wonderland’ vibe.
Bringing the indoors out.
Who can ignore the rise in demand for outside weddings? Wales might not be the South of France in terms of sunshine but our landscape can certainly rival it, especially when Britain’s First Designated Area of Outstanding Natural beauty is on our doorstep, Gower! Registrars have recently relaxed their policies to allow for outdoor weddings too, providing the venue has a licenced indoor area to officially sign the papers. The government are hoping to relax laws though so you can officiate outside! Watch this space.
Florals are massive this season and come in all different forms, some ideas include florist covered giant hoops, floral arches and floral head accessories. A lot of green foliage tends to be incorporated too, classic blush pink is beautiful in summer or if you want to go high trend opt for ‘Living coral’. Coral hues with foliage and contrasted with an accent colour such as navy is huge this season.
While prosecco still reigns supreme, couples are opting to get more creative with their drinks reception, summer lends itself perfectly to this. Lavish gin and tonics, served in classic gin goblets with colourful garnishes and botanicals are all the rage. You can also celebrate local produce by opting for a craft gin brand such as Cygnet. A G&T looks great for that ‘instagram’ shot too.
