Rebecca & Ieuan

We met in 2010 through mutual friends in Verdis in the Mumbles. After months of texting and seeing each other at friends houses, we had our first date the same day as the Royal Wedding on the 29th April 2011. Ieuan later asked me out on 8th May 2011. After 3 years of me nagging, he eventually popped the question on 2nd April 2014 under Penarth Pier in Cardiff, where we went on one of our first dates, he got down on one knee and by the time he got back up, there was a crowd of school children on the promenade cheering and clapping! I said yes! We were married just over a year later.

  1. Don’t worry about anything…My main concern was that as there was a wedding the day before, I wouldn’t be able to dress the room myself (and as a massive control freak that was hard!) However, on the day we were able to go in and view the room before the guests and we needn’t have worried at all because it was all absolutely perfect!
  2. The venue looks outstanding whether it’s raining or sunny. So don’t worry, let your photographers do their job come rain or shine, your photos will be lovely regardless!
  3. Relax and enjoy!

We’d been to see Oldwalls before we had got engaged to have a nose around! We instantly fell in love with the beautiful  venue and its surroundings! So as soon as Ieuan popped the question, we knew there was no other venue for us! Every time we visited after that, something new had appeared in the garden or bar area, the venue was always evolving and it just kept getting better and better. We visited lots of other wedding venues but nothing ever compared to Oldwalls. It is a beautiful venue inside and out and the staff are friendly and couldn’t do enough for us, both before the wedding and on the day.
